Senator Feinstein has written legislation that will ease water concerns for farmers by loosening Endangered Species Act (ESA) restrictions - allowing farmers to pump more water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. Changing the ESA in order to pump more water to farms comes at the cost of the West Coast salmon it is intended to protect. West Coast salmon returns remain at an all time low and intermittent closures have already taken their toll on fishermen and communities.
