Sun Shrimp (partner since 2014 and a FishChoice featured supplier) is a closed-containment aquaculture facility cultivating Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) in southwest Florida. At harvest, Sun Shrimp are immediately dipped into an ice slurry for quality preservation. The shrimp then arrive at the packing plant minutes after harvest where they are washed, graded, packed, and ready for shipping all within a couple of hours of harvest. No chemicals, antibiotics, or preservatives are ever used in the growing or feeding processes. Sun Shrimp are available fresh year-round and can be delivered nationwide within 24 hours after harvest.
