The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation is a non-profit environmental organization that spreads knowledge, charts environmental threats, proposes solutions and influences politicians and authorities, both nationally and internationally. They work with around 50 organizations in approximately 20 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe, and also participates in various networks globally and within the EU. One of their main areas of interest is in addressing the rampant overfishing that is harming the oceans and fishing industry. Their programs work to stop illegal fishing. Specifically, they work towards: implementing Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small Scale Fisheries, establishment of fishing zones exclusively reserved for sustainable small scale fisheries, blue economy initiatives, and more.
