Organization Description:

Andhra University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across arts, sciences, engineering, commerce, law, and marine sciences. The College of Science and Technology and the Department of Marine Living Resources host significant research on oceanography, fisheries biology, and coastal ecology, training generations of scientists and administrators who shape India’s marine and aquaculture sectors.

Role in Indian Shrimp Aquaculture: Andhra University collaborates with ICAR-CIBA, CMFRI, MPEDA, and the AP Department of Fisheries on broodstock, disease diagnostics, mangrove restoration, and coastal zone management. The university is an academic anchor for science-based interventions in shrimp aquaculture, including responsible farming, disease surveillance, and environmental monitoring. In collaboration with the Avanti Foundation, the university runs the AU-Avanti Aquaculture Skill Development Centre.
