Organization Description:

The Aquatic Quarantine Facility (AQF) is specifically operated to control the import of shrimp broodstocks into India. Shrimp broodstocks imported from approved overseas facilities are held in quarantine for 5-7 days, screened for diseases, and then released to the importer once certified free.

Role in Indian Shrimp Aquaculture: AQF is handling imported SPF L. vannamei & P. monodon Shrimp Broodstocks. It is mandatory for all shrimp broodstocks imported into India to undergo aquatic quarantine and obtain clearance as disease-free. Operated by RGCA under MPEDA and monitored by CIBA for disease surveillance.
