The Development Research Communication and Services Centre (DRCSC) was established by development practitioners who believed that small and marginal farmers required ecological alternatives, access to knowledge, and collective strength to overcome poverty and vulnerability. DRCSC is dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture and strengthening rural livelihoods.
A key milestone has been its sustained engagement with more than 30,000 small and marginal farmers, building their capacities in organic farming, seed sovereignty, water conservation, integrated farming systems, and collective marketing. The organization has also facilitated the formation of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and community institutions to strengthen resilience and market access.
Beyond agriculture, DRCSC actively engages with youth groups and works closely with schools, involving children in environmental education, nutrition awareness, kitchen gardening, and climate-sensitive practices. The organization also undertakes plantation drives and community-based afforestation initiatives to enhance biodiversity, restore degraded land, and promote ecological balance.
