Risk Assessment and Verification of Catch Certificates under the EU IUU Regulation

Environmental Justice Foundation, Oceana, Pew Charitable Trusts, and WWF
2016

This report contains key challenges for the verification of catch certificates under the EU IUU regulation. Namely, import controls across the EU may not be able to detect linkages to IUU fishing. To more accurately assess the level and effectiveness of IUU Regulation implementation, the reporting required of member states need to be improved considerably.
