EJF conducted in depth research and concluded that there are four major weaknesses in South Korea’s current traceability regime that collectively are linked to the import of 145 high-risk consignments over two years. These weaknesses are i) insufficient data requirements, ii) oversimplified catch certificates, iii) limited species coverage, and iv) lack of transparency.
