This project was guided by the Comprehensive Traceability Principles and Pathway to begin the initiation and design of an eCDT program that can reap ecological, social, and economic benefits. The strategy documents our approach, the current state and challenges of octopus traceability in Kilwa District, the future desires and priorities as described by the stakeholders, and traceability information recommendations. The strategy is meant to inform next steps to continue the momentum to design and implement an eCDT program for the Kilwa District octopus fishery. These actionable next steps are described in work plan activities that are intended to guide the next 12 months.
