Traceability for Sustainable Trade A Framework to design Traceability Systems for Cross Border Trade

United Nations Economic Commission for Europe
2016
Screenshot of Report Cover

Intangible policy claims such as “socially responsible product” or “sustainably harvested seafood” can influence consumers to prefer one product over another. This document provides definitions and guidance to help governments and the private sector design and implement effective traceability systems. This report aims to contribute to sustainable trade by enabling cross-border traders to substantiate their policy claims and by creating trust among consumers in the credibility of sustainable products.
