The McMurdo VLINK is a complete Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) which enables fishing vessels to comply with European regulations by allowing governmental authorities to monitor and track vessels via satellite that are operating within regulated Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ). The VLINK Satellite Beacon Transponder meets worldwide regulations and will transmit the vessel’s ID, position, course and speed to the authorities. Data is transferred to the Fisheries Monitoring Centres via McMurdo Marine Solutions dedicated infrastructure platform, which is secured using encryption, ensuring total data confidentiality. The McMurdo FMCT/G VMS is Type Approved by the National Marine Fishery Service for fisheries of the greater Atlantic region of the U.S., fisheries of the West Coast of the U.S., the U.S. rock shrimp fishery, the U.S. highly migratory species fishery, and the reef fish fishery of the Gulf of Mexico.
