mFish is a mobile application that provides fishermen in developing nations with market and weather information, along with digital catch documentation for the purpose of traceability and fisheries management. mFish is available free of data charges through Facebookâs Free Basics and accessible on both smartphones and features phones via a mobile web browser. mFish was first announced in 2014 by Secretary of State John Kerry at the Our Ocean conference in Washington, D.C. Later the U.S. Department of State chose Eachmile Technologies (formerly EcoHub Global) to further develop mFish and maximize its potential for transforming seafood supply chains.
