Secure Fisheries works with local, regional, and international stakeholders to strengthen fisheries governance, combat illegal fishing, and promote sustainability in fragile and post-conflict regions as a pathway towards greater peace and stability. They coordinate stakeholders at the community, state/region, State, and international levels, engage with fishing communities on collaborative projects that support long-term food and economic security through sustainable fishing, and work with stakeholders to strengthen fisheries governance and policies designed to combat IUU fishing and advance sustainable fisheries management.
