Trident has focused on two particular areas where data are required to support fisheries research and management: biological sampling of catches and developing video observation to supplement traditional fisheries observer programmes. Trident Systems has worked with Snap Information Technologies to adapt their innovative camera technology for use in fisheries monitoring programmes, incorporating aspects such as a full hemisphere camera to allow for panning and zooming within footage, automated footage retrieval, and around-the-clock recording on small vessels.
