FishWise Welcomes Lana Brandt!

My name is Lana Brandt, and I recently joined FishWise as the Communications Project Manager. As such, I am leading FishWise engagement strategies and content creation to help propel our social and conservation goals forward.

Despite growing up in a northern community in Canada, many miles from the coast, my love and appreciation for the ocean was deeply rooted in me from an early age. Having lived on the west coast for my adult life, I know that home for my family will always be near the ocean.

I am thrilled to work with the FishWise team and I look forward to promoting our work with innovative storytelling and public engagement tools. I have many years experience working in sustainable seafood, and I’m excited to support my team in giving a voice to our oceans and the communities connected to them, to inspire a more equitable and sustainable future.

Outside of work, I am most grateful for time spent with my twin babies, husband and Rhodesian Ridgeback (named Nacho). Together we love hiking, vinyl dance parties, travel adventures and cooking local and sustainable seafood. On my own time, I love to exhale with a seawall run or yoga class.
