From Future of Fish: How do you define government data modernization?

With SALT’s aim to promote work within our SALT community, we’d like to steer you toward Future of Fish’s series on Data Modernization. “What is that?” you ask, “and what does it have to do with traceability?”
Data modernization refers to initiatives that result in more relevant, accurate, timely, and efficient data that support governance, industry, or public needs. Without tackling this issue we can’t ensure our seafood supply chains and fisheries governance are traceable, accurate, and fair. Future of Fish wants to first come to an agreement on how we define government data modernization so we can all speak the same language. They want your opinion: did they get the definition right?
