While global illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing annually costs the global economy an estimated $10-$23.5 billion, there has been little research conducted to estimate costs imposed on legitimate producers stemming from IUU fishing. To fill that knowledge gap, WWF developed an economic snapshot of the impact of IUU imports on U.S. fishermen.
