FishWise at Outside Lands’ Music Festival!
Do you know what goes together better than sunshine and fresh fish on the BBQ? Live music and learning about sustainable seafood!
This time next week, August 12-14th, 2011, FishWise will be heading up to Golden Gate Park to participate in the Outside Lands Music Festival as one of the Eco Lands non-profit partners! Eco Lands will be situated in the heart of Speedway Meadow, 100% powered by alternative energy and the focal point of the Outside Lands’ sustainability mission and environmental commitment. Eco Lands will feature a bike valet, local and organic food vendors, a recycling store and environmentally conscious local and national non-profits including FishWise! FishWise will be spreading the word about sustainable seafood to festivalgoers so stop on by our booth in Eco Lands to increase your awareness about local and sustainable fish!
With an environmental focus, Outside Lands is challenging attendees to help decrease the festival’s carbon footprint by watching emerging artists on the solar-powered Panhandle Stage, choosing refillable water bottles over plastic ones, recycling and composting their waste, biking, carpooling or shuttling to the festival, and eating locally sourced food from our farmers’ market and restaurants.
What could be a better way to spend a weekend then to learn how to be a better steward of our lands and oceans while eating organic local fare and listening to great live music? Come on down to help us spread the word about sustainable seafood!
